We immediately felt... read more like we had a special retreat. Sheila, Will, Bob, and Chrissy were all such great hosts - they were always available and had great recommendations for things to do, but were happy to give us our space as well. It was the perfect balance. Sheila helped us find a few places that rent canoes, and recommended a wonderful paddle for us to take that was only a five mile drive from the treehouse. We were also able to reach the high peaks region quite easily - it's a bit of a drive, but absolutely worth it to stay at this beautiful property. The location is actually great because it's close enough to town that you can get gas or whatever you need, but far enough away to feel remote. The cookhouse is a total glamping situation. We were able to very easily and happily make our meals on the fire and on the two-burner coleman stove in the cookhouse, and there was everything we needed as far as dishes and whatnot. There's a great little area in the cookhouse for hanging out as well, with some adirondack chairs and a hammock chair. I loved journaling there in the morning, as well as on the deck of the treehouse. This may seem like a strange thing to comment on, but another thing that stuck out was the water from the spigot hose, which was absolutely delicious! It's nice and cold straight out of the hose and so fresh tasting. We loved drinking that and cooking our meals with it. Another lovely thing was the maple syrup - Sheila and Bob had very generously left us a sample, but we had to buy more because it was so good! It was great that they had that available there, at a great price for the quality. I can't recommend this place enough and I am just sad that it will probably be hard to go back because I'm sure it's going to be booked all the time, but we will definitely make it happen somehow because it was amazing.

We brought all our layers, and while we were still very, very cold (until we got in the cozy bed with a heated mattress pad!), the beauty and the magic of the space were well worth any chilly night. Lovely and well-kept trails around the property, a sugarhouse, a lean-to, and many more things.
It really has to be seen to be experienced fully. One of our favorite things was the photo album of how the treehouse was built. Also seeing the string lights reflected in the trees outside, like a wide net of stars. We were only there for one night, but all our friends are already asking where this magical place was and how to get there ASAP. Don’t miss the chance, if you’ve got it!

We visited the last week of November: it was essentially winter-camping. The hosts were clear about this up front and reached out before we even confirmed to make sure we'd be comfortable and prepared. The treehouse was maybe 2 degrees warmer than what was outside. The space heater up there accomplishes very little, although a heated blanked does make the bed somewhat cozier. We slept in sub-10 degree F weather the last night, and I had to wear long socks, two pants, two sweaters, and a hat pulled around my face. I was cozy and happy though! The bathroom is inside a well-heated cabin, and makes the mornings, evenings, and bathroom trips quite pleasant. It's really nice with a hot shower and plenty of space to change in the heat.
The property is adorable, we cooked at their huge firepit a few times. There is a screened-in cookhouse, which means it has 0 insulation as well. If you're cooking on the property, you'll be cooking outdoors (although under a roof with a nice table/campstove). The hosts provided sufficient firewood, although we brought a bit of our own and had an extra-big blaze.
Overall, I would highly recommend this experience (the winter version) to anyone who
1) Can prepare and adapt for a full-on magical adventure. Do not under prepare for sleeping here.
2) Can climb up slightly slippery, steep stairs. This does require some finesse to enter, I would not recommend it to my family with knee issues as much as they'd love the space.
3) Likes nature, homemade carpentry, elf-vibes, really anything. If you can survive the cold and make it up the stairs, you'll make a life-long memory.
The hosts are extremely communicative and experienced, just reach out if you have questions!

As for the place, it's fantastic. It'll blow your mind. We arrived in the evening right before it was getting dark. We prepped for dinner and had a lovely meal with the campfire lit and the beautiful stars above us. There was nothing more you could ask for. It was a perfect night. That's not even the best part. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise. That sunrise was the perfect start to my day. You won't regret staying here. I guarantee it.
Words can't describe how great Sheila and Bob is. They have all the answers you need for your questions about you trip. Again, I promise you. You will not regret staying here.

The property is beautiful and peaceful and the lean-to felt surprisingly protected and substantial.
Our family is pretty new to camping and staying in their lean-to was a very good way for a beginner to have a positive experience, especially when camping with kids.
